Crescent Sighted, Eid-ul-Adha to be Celebrated on 27 May

Karachi: The crescent of Zil Hajj, 1447 AH has been sighted, and Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on 27th of this month. This was announced by Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, while talking to media in Karachi tonight after chairing a meeting of the committee. He said Zil Hajj 1447 AH will commence from tomorrow.

According to Radio Pakistan, the announcement was made following the conclusion of a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. The meeting was held to confirm the sighting of the crescent moon, which marks the beginning of the Islamic month of Zil Hajj. The sighting of the moon is significant as it determines the date for Eid-ul-Adha, an important religious festival observed by Muslims worldwide.
