Death Anniversary of Agha Nasir Observed on Sunday

Islamabad: The tenth death anniversary of renowned director, producer, broadcaster, and TV playwright Agha Nasir was observed today [Sunday]. Agha Nasir, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, made significant contributions to Pakistani television and radio. According to Radio Pakistan, Agha Nasir was born on 9th February 1937 in Mumbai, India. He began his illustrious career in 1955 as a broadcaster for Pakistan Radio. Throughout his career, he produced notable drama serials such as 'Girah' and 'Pani Pe Naam'. His direction of 'Taleem-e-Balighan' is remembered as one of the finest stage dramas to have aired on Pakistan Television (PTV). Agha Nasir also played a role in designing the logo of PTV, showcasing his versatility and impact on the industry. In addition to his work in broadcasting, he was a prolific author, writing books like 'Gumshudda Log', 'Gulshan-i-Yad', and 'Hum Jeetay Ji Masroof Rahay'. He also penned his autobiography, 'Agha Se Agha Nasir Tak'. For his contributions to the arts, Agha Nasir was awarded the Pride of Performance Award. He passed away on this day in 2016, leaving behind a legacy in the fields of television and literature.
