Deputy Prime Minister Dar Advocates for Education Reforms Inspired by Prophet Muhammad’s Teachings

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has called for a reform of Pakistan’s education system, urging that it be shaped by the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Speaking at the National Seerat Conference today, Dar emphasized integrating religious teachings with contemporary education to foster both academic prowess and strong moral values among students.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dar highlighted the critical role of education in shaping a society’s ethical framework, especially in the age of social media, where moral decline is a growing concern. He proposed a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Education Ministry, and religious scholars to draft comprehensive educational reforms.

Dar stressed the religious duty of education emphasized in Islam, noting the government’s responsibility to provide educational opportunities. He also pointed out the necessity of equipping the youth with modern scientific knowledge to ensure the country’s competitiveness on a global scale.

Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain also spoke at the conference, describing the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as not only a spiritual leader but also an exemplary teacher. Hussain echoed Dar’s sentiment on the potential of the Prophet’s teachings to create a balanced and educated society.
