DPM Terms Pak-Saudi Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement as Historic

London: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has termed the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as historic.

According to Radio Pakistan, while speaking to media in London, Dar stated that the landmark agreement was not signed overnight, but it involved months of negotiations and followed a due process.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that there has always been an informal arrangement between the two countries concerning the security of Saudi Arabia, including the protection of Harmain Shareefain.

Ishaq Dar acknowledged Saudi Arabia's consistent support for Pakistan during challenging periods. He highlighted the importance of Saudi assistance, particularly when Pakistan faced sanctions, and expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia's backing of the IMF program.
