Dutch Hockey veterans visit Pakistan

Islamabad, December 14, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Flying Dutch Veterans hockey team visited Lahore by special invitation from The Dar Hockey Academy. The Dutch team consisted of former Olympians and International players whose previous visit to Pakistan was nearly 15 years ago to participate in the 1998 Champions Trophy where The Netherlands beat Pakistan 3-1. match was very entertaining for the onlookers who were treated to a feast of goals with the visitors eventually winning the gripping contest 7-5.Sander Janssen Chargé D’Affaires of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Pakistan also played briefly in the first half representing the Dutch Veterans.

The third and final match was played against the Punjab Veterans team in the presence of Mr Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab, on the occasion of the Punjab International Sports Festival 2012. The match was very entertaining for the onlookers who were treated to a feast of goals with the visitors eventually winning the gripping contest 7-5.Sander Janssen Chargé D’Affairs of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Pakistan also played briefly in the first half representing the Dutch Veterans.
