Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution disburses Rs 1,927.630 million among pensioners

Karachi, March 13, 2016 (PPI-OT): Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) has disbursed an amount of Rs 1,927.630 million amongst 371,628 pensioners during the month of January 2016 and collected Rs 1,121.611 million as EOB contribution from registered employers and employees during the same month. EOBI has also registered 348 new employers and 30,932 employees and granted 2,336 new pension claims which included 1,267 old-age, 32 invalidity 853 survivors and 184 old-age grant cases.

The EOBI has registered 103,709 employers and establishments and 6,705,291 insured persons under the Employees’ Old-age Benefits Scheme since the inception of the EOB Scheme 1976. The total number of pensioners has reached 564,554. The EOBI has also requested new employers to register themselves and their employees with EOBI and pay monthly contribution for the wellbeing of their employees.
