Export of Perishable Items from Pakistan to the United Kingdom

Lahore: Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs of the United Kingdom has set out the following obligatory requirements and guidelines for importing perishable items into the UK. Pakistani exporters of all perishable items into the UK must observe this.

a) Documents Required:

Invoice and Packaging List
Certificate of Origin
Phytosanitary Certificate
Health Certificate

Official Certificate/ Establishment Number of Approved Premises in Country of Origin (This is document certifying a country approved for exporting fruits and vegetables into the EU.)

b) Prior Approval from destination

Airline’s prior approval is required before forwarding PER cargo into UK

c) Rejection by DEFRA

Upon refusal for entry of the shipment by DEFRA on account of non compliance to points A and B above, the shipment will be returned back to origin under new airway bill consigned to shipper and all charges on account of Shipper/agent.
