Fahim attends 3rd Global Entrepreneurship Summit
Islamabad, December 12, 2012 (PPI-OT): Senior Minister for Commerce, Makhdoom Amin Fahim attended the 3rd Global Entrepreneurship Summit and Arab Entrepreneurship Conference and exhibition at Dubai which was opened H.H. Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Before the opening of summit, Makhdoom Amin Fahim has bilateral meeting with the Prime Ministers of Dubai.
During the meeting Senior Minister for Commerce said that UAE, being a commercial hub of Asia and Africa can play role in the promotion of Gawder port for linking the end locked countries i.e. Afghanistan, Central Asia and Western China. He also expressed appreciation for UAE investment in Pakistan and expresses the desire to create institutional linkage, as it needs to be diversified from the present preponderance in Real Estate.
Earlier Senior Minister for Commerce, Makhdoom Amin Fahim attended Halal Food Congress at Sharjah which was a joint venture between Pakistani organization Halal Development Council (HDC) and Expo Centre Sharjah. During this ceremony, Federal Minister said that Pakistan has great potential of Halal production as there are over 180 million consumers in Pakistan and it has a direct Halal consumer in Afghanistan, Central Asia and Middle East.
The Minister pointed out that Pakistan export of food products to the UAE has increased to over US $500 million and more than US$ one billion to GCC region. He further suggested that improved labelling, packaging of products would develop the Halal Trade with the OIC countries which would ultimately improve the standard of living of our population.
