London, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi recently visited three critical institutions in London, including the National Crime Agency, the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, and the National Situation Center, where he met with top British officials to discuss and enhance bilateral cooperation in security measures.

According to Press Information Department, during his meetings with James Babbage, the Director General of the National Crime Agency, and Jonathan Allen, Director General of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Minister Naqvi was briefed on the functions and strategic operations of these institutions. The discussions centered on intensifying cooperation in areas such as counter-terrorism, organized crime, and cybersecurity.

The visit underscored a mutual agreement to boost collaboration in tackling drug trafficking, cybercrime, illegal immigration, and anti-narcotics efforts. Minister Naqvi praised the UK’s initiative to train Pakistani officers in combating cybercrimes and narcotics, highlighting the need for stronger ties in the fight against drug trafficking and emphasizing the significant sacrifices made by Pakistan in the war against terrorism.

Furthermore, Minister Naqvi visited the Cabinet Office and the National Situation Center, where he expressed interest in the operational dynamics of the UK’s crisis response mechanisms. He voiced intentions to establish a similar facility in Pakistan and sought UK expertise to support this development.

The meetings, which also included Pakistani High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, and British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, concluded with affirmations of the crucial role of bilateral cooperation in maintaining security and stability for both nations.
