Islamabad: A delegation of Asian Development Bank (ADB) led by Senior Director Tariq H. Niazi called on Minister for Finance Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad today. The meeting focused on discussing ADB’s ongoing and future initiatives aimed at supporting Pakistan’s economic growth and governance.
According to Radio Pakistan, the ADB delegation briefed the Finance Minister on the Bank’s initiatives, which are designed to ensure stronger macro-fiscal management and effective governance in its developing member countries. Senior Director Tariq H. Niazi highlighted that the Bank has a substantial pipeline of projects planned for Pakistan, which will focus on economic reforms and socio-economic development.
The Finance Minister expressed appreciation for ADB’s financial and technical assistance to Pakistan over the years. He emphasized that the Bank’s priority areas of assistance align well with Pakistan’s current development needs. Muhammad Aurangzeb also welcomed ADB’s support in building climate resil
ience and advancing government and pension reforms, which are critical areas for the country’s sustainable development.
