Flood water drained out from 50 % agricultural land in Sindh: Wassan

Flood water has been drained out from fifty percent agricultural land in Sindh and the land of some districts is now ready for Rabi crops.

This was stated by Sindh Agriculture Adviser Manzoor Wassan in a statement in Karachi on Sunday.

He said wheat is cultivated in Sindh from October 15 to December 15.

In the districts of Sukkur, Nara, Ghotki and Dharki, Umarkot, Shaheed Benazirabad, Nowshahrofiroz, and Sanghar, the land is ready for Rabi crop, while in Qamber, Jacobabad, and Shikarpur, about forty percent of the land is available for Rabi crop cultivation.

He said seventy percent of the land in Larkana, fifty percent in Thatta and Kashmore is available for rabi crop, while the flood water is high in Khairpur district.

There is also standing water in some areas of Nawabshah where the drainage work is underway.
