Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has stressed for joint efforts by the government, international community and the United Nations’ donor agencies to overcome the enormous challenge posed by devastating flood in Pakistan.
At a joint press conference along with United Nations Resident Coordinator Julien Harneis in Islamabad, the Foreign Minister said current flash flood has affected around 33 million people in the country.
He said following the initial assessment of the disaster, urgent steps is required by the world, the UN and the partner agencies to cope with the magnitude of the challenge.
Speaking on the occasion, Julien Harneis UN Resident Coordinator in Pakistan, also highlighted the country’s requirements to tackle the situation.
