German Parliament’s President leaves for talks in Pakistan
Berlin, April 29, 2014 (PPI-OT): President of German Parliament (Bundestag), Dr. Norbert Lammert left today for Pakistan on a 3-day visit on the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart, Speaker National Assembly, Sardar AyazSadiq. He is scheduled to call on the President, Mamnoon Hussain, Chairman Senate, Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari and Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
Dr. Lammert will also meet with human rights activists, church officials and representatives from the Association for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Reconstruction Loan Corporation (KfW). Meeting with Federal Minister for Information Broadcasting, and National Heritage and Justice and Human Rights, Mr. Parvaiz Rashid is also on his agenda. The Parliamentarians Niels Annen (SPD), Marie Luise Beck (Alliance ‘90 / The Greens) and Hans-Peter Uhl (CDU / CSU) are also accompanying him.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany, Syed Hasan Javed called on Dr. Lammert in his office at the German Parliament and exchanged views on bilateral issues with special reference to cooperation between the Parliaments of the two countries and establishment of Parliamentarian Friendship Group.
