Gillani Advocates Enhanced Pakistan-Italy Relations in Key Sectors

Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has called for further strengthening of Pakistan-Italy relations, particularly in trade, investment, agriculture, labour mobility, and people-to-people exchanges. He expressed these views during a meeting with Italian Ambassador Ugo Ciarlatani, who visited him in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Acting President emphasized the significant potential for expanding bilateral trade and investment. He welcomed the presence of Italian companies in Pakistan and encouraged increased Italian investment in sectors of mutual interest. The discussion highlighted the importance of bolstering economic ties between the two nations.

Italian Ambassador Ugo Ciarlatani noted that approximately 300,000 people of Pakistani origin reside, work, and study in Italy. He acknowledged their contributions to fostering stronger relations between Pakistan and Italy, indicating the vibrant connection shared by both countries.
