Gillani Advocates for Adoption of International Best Practices to Enhance Governance in Pakistan.

Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has called for adopting international best practices, focusing on innovation, and using the latest technology to improve governance in Pakistan. He addressed the participants of the 36th Senior Management Course from the National Institute of Public Administration, Karachi, during their visit to Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Acting President highlighted the importance of embracing digital governance, data-driven decision-making, and utilizing artificial intelligence to enhance service delivery. He stressed that the bureaucracy must adopt a proactive and constructive approach to tackle the various challenges facing the country. Gillani urged the development of robust networks within the government and with external stakeholders to create sustainable solutions to Pakistan’s socio-economic issues.

In response to a query, the Acting President mentioned that the provinces have been granted more rights and funding following the 18th Amendment and
the NFC Award. Regarding the 26th Constitutional Amendment, he emphasized that it is Parliament’s prerogative to amend the Constitution, ensuring it aligns with the country’s best interests.

Addressing concerns about terrorist incidents in Balochistan, the Acting President noted that anti-Pakistan elements are actively working against the province’s development and prosperity. Their efforts aim to deter investors from contributing to Pakistan’s growth. He reiterated Balochistan’s significance, recalling his initiation of the Aaghaz-e-Huqooq-e-Balochistan during his tenure as Prime Minister, which was implemented to support the province’s development.
