Government committed to hold free, fair and transparent elections: Prime Minister
Islamabad, July 10, 2012 (PPI-OT): Senator Ms. Suriya Amiruddin, and Ms. Natasha Daultana, MNA called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, separately, at Prime Minister’s House today.
The Parliamentarians congratulated the Prime Minister on unanimous selection of justice ® Fakhr-ud-Din G Ebrahim as Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan. They termed it a positive omen for democratic dispensation as the selection was made both by government and the opposition with complete consensus.
The Parliamentarians also apprised the Prime Minister about various development projects in their respective constituencies.
The Prime Minister said that consensus on the name of Chief Election Commissioner amply manifested government’s commitment to elect next Parliament according to people’s choice by holding free, fair and transparent elections.
The Prime Minister asked the Parliamentarians to focus on the completion of on- going projects in their constituencies.
