Government to release Rs100 million to Korangi Association of Trade and Industry
Karachi, November 07, 2012 (PPI-OT): Development work in Korangi Industrial is scheduled to start very soon as the initial fund for Rs100 million would soon be released by KMC; this was stated by the Town Administrator Korangi A Sami Khan. Speaking on the occasion of execution of CPLC-Neighbourhood Care project initiated by the industrialists of Sector 23 led by CEO Maple Pharma Shafiuddin Feroz, Sami Khan said that the construction of Road 5000 will start very soon followed by carpeting of Road 2000 would be carried out.
He said that the town administration is awaiting funds from the ADP (Annual Development Plan) following which the several projects of infrastructural development would be taken up. He appreciated the initiative of Sector 23’s industries to establish CPLC-NC project for their security.
Chairman KATI Zubair Chhaya said on this occasion that as Governor Sindh is very keen to establish CPLC-NC projects in industrial areas, the KATI is supporting and assisting its members to contribute in such projects so that ever increasing crimes in KIA should be curbed.
He said that though KATI members are contributing towards CPLC-NC and various civic works in their areas but the KMC and town administration’s support is a mandatory. He further said that industrialists are ready to pay the KMC’s Infrastructure Development Tax provided the KMC would take up development works and complete the ongoing projects. CEP Maple Pharma, Shafiuddin Feroz said on the occasion that industries are suffering due to ever increasing crimes in the area while infrastructure is extremely poor.
He said that industries in KIA are exporting goods worth hundreds of millions of dollars yet they are deprived of basic civic facilities. He urged upon the government to take up development works in KIA.
