Governor assures help to family of captured ship crew’s release
Karachi: Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan, has assured every possible assistance to the family of the Pakistani crew of cargo ship MV Albedo taken hostage by the Somali pirates.
He was talking to the family members of the kidnapped Pakistani crew of MV Albedo, at the Governor House here on Saturday.
Talking to the family members, Dr Ebad said that the matter was very sensitive. He said that due to constant efforts, the pirates have lowered the demand for ransom amount to dollars four million from dollars eight million.
He further stated the chief of the CPLC Ahmed Chinoy is pursuing the case and it would be his endeavour to get the ransom amount further lowered for the release of the crew. Dr Ebad also appealed to the people to extend their cooperation in this regard.
The Governor said that contact has also been established with the diplomats of Bangladesh, Iran and Malaysia who informed that they too would look into the case of the hijacked crew of their respective countries on humanitarian grounds and also expressed their willingness to extend assistance.
