Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa presided over a meeting to discuss Gas supply to different localities of district Kohat

Peshawar: The Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Barrister Masood Kausar on Wednesday presided over a meeting to discuss Gas supply to different localities of district Kohat and directed the Company concerned to come up with a concrete plan prioritizing the deserving areas and localities to be provided with the Gas facility in due course of time.

Attended by Amjad Afridi, Minister for Housing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sikander Qayyum Secretary to Governor, Sahibzada Mohammad Anis Commissioner Kohat, Khalid Parvez General Manager SNGPL, Ch. Mohammad Arshad GM Development and other officials, the meeting was informed about the current state of supply and distribution of Gas to Kohat city and its surrounding areas. The GM, SNGPL briefed the meeting and highlighted the hurdles and shortcoming in gas infrastructure development in the district that was hindering to meet the growing public demand for the supply of Gas.

The Governor urged that the Company must prepare a master plan and chalk out proper guiding principles to be strictly followed while extending the facility to the new areas. The Governor strongly resented the haphazard and illogical Gas supply by providing gas to certain areas leaving other to bypass. “The Gas distribution process should be logical, rational and judicious rather than haphazard and discretionary”, the Governor stressed adding that a planned distribution process would benefit both the Company and the people. The Governor also emphasized consolidated efforts by developing effective coordination between the local administration, SNGPL and other concerned departments so as to remove the public grievances and make them satisfy. About certain points regarding the issues confronting the Company, the Governor assured that these would be taken up with the concerned quarter at proper forum.
