Punjab Governor Baligh-u-Rehman has expressed his commitment to improve governance in universities and promote higher education in the country.
He was talking to Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Shahid Munir and Secretary Higher Education Najaf Iqbal in Lahore on Thursday.
Speaking on this occasion, he stressed the need to make regular and timely appointments to important posts including vice chancellors to deal with governance issues in universities.
Calling upon the need to improve the procedure regarding the selection of professors, the Governor urged the process of appointment to the vacant posts of Vice-Chancellors, Deans, Controller of Examinations and Registrar started six months before the retirement of their predecessors.
