Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif distributed cheques among youth under the Prime Minister Youth Business and Agriculture Loan scheme in Lahore on Sunday.
The scheme is aimed at ensuring provision of low-interest loans on easy terms to talented youth to enable them start their own businesses.
Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister said prices of petroleum products have been decreased due to strengthening of rupee against dollar.
He said International Monetary Fund’s program is challenging for the country but bold decisions will be helpful for stabilizing the economy.
The Prime Minister recalled that Former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif gave laptops in the hands of youth instead of Kalashnikov.
He said the government is committed to empower the youth of the country as empowering them was a key to ensure the development and prosperity.
Shehbaz Sharif urged the people to keep in their minds the destruction caused to the county during the last four years while casting their votes in upcoming elections.
Addressing the ceremony, Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman said millions of laptops have been given to students on merit and this revolutionary Program has been appreciated at international level.
He regretted that during the tenure of previous government, education and health sectors have been badly ignored.
Earlier, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, Shaza Fatima Khawaja said, so-far, loans have been issued on easy conditions to one million youth of the country.
