Islamabad: Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain has said the government is committed to safeguarding the interests of farmers by ensuring smooth procurement operations. He was chairing a meeting of the Wheat Review Committee in Islamabad. According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister expressed satisfaction over the current wheat reserves, assuring that sufficient stocks are available in the country to meet domestic consumption requirements and maintain food security. The minister directed all provincial governments and relevant departments to ensure the uninterrupted inter-provincial movement of wheat.
