Islamabad: Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, has emphasized the government's commitment to protecting farmers' income, stabilizing domestic prices, and strengthening Pakistan's agricultural export base. These remain top priorities for the government, as he outlined during the 4th meeting of the Committee on Potato Export in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister highlighted the importance of coordinated, time-bound, and practical interventions to address current regional challenges. He stressed the need for enhancing Pakistan's presence in new and emerging markets amidst these challenges.

Rana Tanveer Hussain recognized the sharp rise in transportation and freight costs due to regional instability. He underscored the government's determination to provide targeted transport subsidies and concessional freight support to exporters. These measures aim to offset the extraordinary costs arising from external disruptions and maintain the competitiveness of Pakistani potatoes in international markets.
