Group of UN Disarmament Fellows visits Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad

A group of UN Disarmament Fellows visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad, where they were given briefing on Pakistan’s perspective on Arms Control, Disarmament, and nuclear Non-Proliferation as well as the imperative of unhindered access to dual-use technologies for peaceful socio-economic applications.

The group is comprised of officers from 24 countries, currently on a visit to Pakistan as part of their international study tour under the auspices of UN Office for Disarmament Affairs.

During the tour, they will also visit Pakistan Centre of Excellence on Nuclear Security, Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology, National Institute of Health, Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission, Defence Science and Technology Organization and Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority.

They will witness the application of nuclear and space technologies in the area of public health, industry, agriculture, food security, power generation and other fields.
