Hindutva Vigilantes Accused of Killing Two Muslim Youths in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Two Muslim youths were allegedly killed by a group of Hindutva cow vigilantes in the Arang area of Raipur, Chhattisgarh, a state governed by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident involved the youths being accused of cow smuggling, which led to their brutal beating and subsequent death. The violence occurred near the Mahanadi River where the bodies of Chand Miya and Guddu Khan were later found floating.

Media sources report that Saddam Khan, another individual involved, survived the attack but is critically injured and currently hospitalized. The victims, all hailing from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, were reportedly legally transporting buffaloes to Odisha in a truck.

The attack unfolded as a group of local youths spotted the truck, followed it to the Mahanadi bridge, and then surrounded it. It is reported that the attackers used road spikes to halt the truck, dragged the occupants out, and assaulted them. In an effort to escape the violence, one of the victims jumped into the river.

Eyewitnesses claim the mob explicitly targeted the men by labeling them as Muslims and accusing them of smuggling cows, which precipitated the fatal assaults.
