Housing Ministry Approves Uplift Schemes Worth Billions
Islamabad: Ministry of Housing and Works approved uplift projects worth 2482.042 millions.
A meeting of the Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP) of Ministry of Housing and Works was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Housing and Works Kamran Lashari. Representatives of the Finance, Planning and Development Division alongwith senior officers of the Pak. PWD attended the meeting.
According to the details, 793 Development Schemes worth 2482.024 million were approved under People Works Programme-I and II (PWP-I and II) as identified by parliamentarians. These schemes include construction and improvement of basic infrastructure of the country like roads, bridges, schools and colleges, dispensaries, filtration plants, sewerage and water supply system etc.
Secretary Housing and Works directed Pak. PWD to expedite disposal of these uplift projects while making no compromise on the quality of work. He also appreciated role of D.G. Pak. PWD for expeditious disposal of the schemes.
It also merits a mention here that a month earlier 1534 development schemes of more than 3.605 billion were approved by DDWP under PPW-I and II on the identification of 192 parliamentarians.
