ICCI to take market unions on board for resolving traders’ problems
Islamabad, January 13, 2015 (PPI-OT): A 20 member delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by Muzammil Hussain Sabri, President visited G-8 Markaz, Islamabad to congratulate Iftikhar Shahzada President, Hameed Kiani General Secretary and other newly elected office bearers of Traders Welfare Association.
Muhammad Shakeel Munir Senior Vice President, Muhammad Ashfaq Hussain Chatha Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abdul Rauf Chairman ICCI Founder Group and Chairman United Business Group North Zone, Zubair Ahmed Malik, Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi, Zafar Bakhtawari, Tahir Abbasi, Khalid Chaudhry and Saeed Ahmed Bhatti were also in the delegation.
Speaking at the occasion, Muzammil Hussain Sabri, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry hoped that the newly elected office bearers of G-8 Markaz Traders Association will play a positive role in resolving the issues of local traders. He said ICCI has developed close liaison with market unions to take them on board on key issues of business community and make joint efforts for redress of the same. He assured that ICCI would provide all possible cooperation and support to G-8 Markaz market union in efforts made for the welfare of traders.
Abdul Rauf, Chairman ICCI Founder Group and Chairman United Business Group North Zone also congratulated the new office bearers of G-8 Markaz and urged that market unions should strengthen the hands of ICCI as only with strong unity, business community would be able to ensure better protection of its rights. He said ICCI in collaboration with trade unions will work with CDA, FBR, IESCO and other relevant departments for urgent solution of business community problems.
Iftikhar Shahzada President and Hameed Kiani General Secretary of Traders Welfare Association, G-8 Markaz, Islamabad highlighted the problems being faced by the traders of the area. They said the roads, foot paths, toilets and sewerage system in the G-8 business centre were not in good condition due to which businessmen and the visitors were facing many difficulties and stressed that CDA should pay urgent attention to take care of these problems.
They said the best approach to revive the economic activities was to create good conditions for the growth of business activities and stressed that government should give top priority to creating conducive business environment in the country. They also assured full cooperation to ICCI in its efforts aimed at promoting the interests of trade and industry.
