Prime Minister Imran Khan says improving education, health and infrastructure is the top priority of the government.
Chairing a meeting to review the progress of development projects in Bahawalpur Division and establishment of South Punjab Secretariat in Bahawalpur, the Prime Minister said consultations will be made with all the stakeholders before taking any action regarding South Punjab.
He said water is a basic human need and in view of the importance of agriculture in the region, all water related issues will be addressed.
The Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing on the overall situation of Bahawalpur Division including economic, social, education, health, infrastructure and especially agricultural production.
The meeting was apprised about steps taken to increase the pace of work in the industrial zones and work on master plan of Cholistan and Bahawalpur.
The meeting was told that 189 billion rupees for 2,491 projects of South Punjab have been reserved in the budget of current fiscal year.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister also interacted with the local members of the National and Provincial Assemblies.
