Srinagar, January 10, 2013 (PPI-OT): The forum led by veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has said that India is conspiring to change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir by granting Permanent Residence Certificates to non-resident refugees. The forum at its executive council meeting, presided over by General Secretary, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi in Srinagar expressed resolve to resist the Indian move tooth and nail.

The meeting observed that India and its puppet authorities were hell-bent upon settling the non-Kashmiris in the territory to undermine the Muslim majority character of Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting expressed concern over arbitrary arrests and harassment of innocent Kashmiris by Indian police and appealed to the international human rights organisations to take notice of the matter.

The meeting was held in the wake of puppet Revenue Minister, Raman Bhalla’s announcement that the regime would go for constitutional amendment in the upcoming session of the so-called Kashmir Assembly to grant Permanent Resident Certificates to the refugees, mostly settled in Jammu.
