Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar announced that investigations have uncovered a connection between the banned Joint Action Committee (JAC) in Azad Kashmir and India. The findings have exposed an India-linked digital disinformation network aiming to spread anti-Pakistan propaganda through coordinated social media campaigns.

According to Radio Pakistan, during a media briefing in Islamabad, Attaullah Tarar revealed that a person providing digital marketing services was arrested by Pakistan's security agencies. The investigations indicated that the suspect's digital services were linked to India, with payments made from India to promote anti-Pakistan content on social media platforms.

The investigation further disclosed a network of bot farms used to disseminate misinformation and amplify content targeting Pakistan, its sovereignty, government, armed forces, Army Chief, and state institutions. The suspect admitted during interrogation that a significant portion of the content he received related to the proscribed Joint Action Committee's activities in Azad Kashmir.

Tarar emphasized that the JAC was working to undermine the Kashmir cause and weaken ties between Kashmir and Pakistan. He remarked that the committee had no connection with the interests of the Kashmiri people or the Kashmir cause, suggesting that sincere members should engage in the democratic process by contesting elections.

The Information Minister highlighted that violent protests by the JAC led to the martyrdom of Kashmiri police personnel, creating a law and order situation in Azad Kashmir. He stated that the group's activities are linked to India, with the government possessing irrefutable evidence of this connection.

Tarar assured that the people of Kashmir have rejected violence and conspiracy politics, demonstrating that Pakistan-Kashmir relations remain strong and unbreakable. He affirmed that investigations into the arrested suspect are ongoing, and countering misinformation is a governmental responsibility.

The Minister concluded by asserting Pakistan's commitment to global peace, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, which has further enhanced the country's dignity and international standing. He expressed confidence in Pakistan's continued progress and development.
