Islamabad High Court Alerts Employees Against a Possible Malware Attack
In the face of growing incidents of cyber-attacks and date breaches, Islamabad High Court has alerted its employees against a possible cyber-attack.
According to the official notification issued by Additional Registrar (IT), Ransomware has been launched worldwide to target computers running on Windows 7 and 10 operating systems.
Ransomware is a type of malware designed to harm a computer, server, client, or a network, which not only prevents users from accessing their files, but it also demands ransom if they wish to regain access to their files.
Ransomware can spread through phishing emails, downloads from the browsers, or infected USBs.
For the employees to protect official data and avert a possible Ransomware attack, the following guidelines have been provided by the Additional Registrar (IT):
Take a backup of the official data
Avoid plugging USBs official systems
Use a local network to share sensitive emails
Avoid installing plugins in the browser
Do not open websites unnecessarily
