Islamabad Traffic Police focusing to control serious violation on roads: Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic)
Islamabad: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has conducted a survey to know the serious violations on roads and focusing with renewed efforts to control them through educating road users and ensure community policing through mobilizing its staff as well as volunteers.
Reviewing the performance report of ITP, Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Dr. Moeen Masood said that efforts are afoot to control the grave violations and make journey secure in the city.
The SSP (Traffic) was told that 29557 fine tickets were issued to motorists during the current year for not fastening seats belts, 24312 for driving motorbikes without helmet, 18662 for signal light violation, 18824 for using mobile phones during drive and 15123 for careless driving.
The SSP (Traffic) directed to control violations which can be dangerous for the life of road users, pedestrian and others too. He said that ITP had succeeded to maintain an exemplary traffic system in the Capita l and its personnel are following the operational codes of the force in true letter and spirit including elimination of VIP culture and equal application of traffic rules in the city.
Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), he said, had become model of excellence through its service-oriented policies and further endeavoring to come up to the expectations of the general public by ensuring traffic discipline in the city.
Dr. Moeen said ITP had got the image of corruption-free and people-friendly force through hard work and eliminating the curse of corruption from the organization.
The SSP (Traffic) was told that a total of 2,68,646 fine tickets were issued during the current year imposing a total fine of Rs. 66603300 on motorists or road users.
The SSP Dr. Moeen Masood said that ITP is corruption free, people friendly and service oriented organization and the curse of corruption has been eliminated from the force.
Traffic violation tickets are issued to the road users not as a punitive measure but the purpose is to inculcate traffic sense among the citizens to protect their own lives during travel on roads, he added.
