Washington DC: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met with a delegation from the Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), led by CEO Eng. Hani Salem Sonbol, to discuss the expansion of trade financing for Pakistan. During the meeting, ITFC pledged USD 3 billion in commodity financing under a three-year Framework Agreement, which includes an immediate provision of USD 269 million through a combination of direct financing and syndication.
According to Press Information Department, Minister Aurangzeb expressed gratitude for ITFC’s ongoing support and welcomed its commitment to broadening its financial portfolio in Pakistan. The minister assured the government’s full cooperation to facilitate the agreement, viewing it as a significant boost to Pakistan’s trade and economic resilience.
