JI urges Kashmir settlement through UN resolutions
Srinagar, July 23, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jamaat-e-Islami held a day-long annual congregation at Batpora in Baramulla district, which was attended by thousands of people. Jamaat General Secretary Ghulam Qadir Lone in his address said, “The resolution to Kashmir dispute must be sought as per UN resolutions or through tripartite talks.”
Explaining the stand of Jamaat-e-Islami on Kashmir dispute, he said, “From the day one, Jamaat-e-Islami has been advocating resolution of Kashmir dispute according to wishes and aspirations of Kashmiri people.” He said any resolution which is against the aspirations of Kashmiri people will be rejected.
“Jamaat-e-Islami has never been an underground movement but a party with the objective made public. The organization has been working for it in public domain,” he said. He also deliberated on the parameters that govern the mankind from cradle to grave and said that until the teachings of Islam are not followed in letter and spirit, the real peace, prosperity and progress was a distant dream.
“Quran has laid much stress on adhering to the principles of justice; be it social, political or economic,” he said, adding that Adl or justice was among the basic tenets of Islam. Uncertainty in society is due to injustice and only implementation of Islamic teachings can ensure justice in the society.
