Srinagar, December 23, 2012 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has expressed serious concern over the declining health of its illegally detained leaders, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo and Masarrat Aalam Butt.

The JKML General Secretary, Abdul Ahad Parra, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo was seriously ill for the past several days and the jail authorities were not providing him medical treatment.

He said that the wife of the detained leader, Aasiya Andrabi, and other relatives went to the jail but were not allowed by the authorities to meet him. He maintained that the jail officials were deliberately risking the life of Dr Fakhtoo. Abdul Ahad Parra said that Masarrat Aalam was recently shifted to a hospital in Jammu after his condition deteriorated in Kathua Jail.
