Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Administrator directs to prepare comprehensive plan for renovation of Parks in city
Karachi, May 26, 2013 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Syed Hashim Raza Ziadi has directed to conduct a detailed survey of all small and big parks under the arrangements of Parks and Horticulture Department and prepare a comprehensive plan for renovation of them so that citizens during their holidays and spare times would have opportunity to have a good time with their families in fresh and attractive environment.
Administrator Karachi directed Director General Parks that along with greenery and plantation, cleanliness and trimming of trees lighting arrangements should be made especially visitors of Bagh-e-Ibn-e-Qasim, Clifton Beach Park and Jheel Park should be provided with all possible facilities.
He said that a plan for renovation of these parks should be prepared whereas along with seasonal flowers attractive shadow trees should also be included with which these parks would be more beautiful and green.
He said a good number of different kinds of seasonal and other flowers should be prepared in nursery under KMC which would be planted along big roads and corridors so that KMC would not have to purchase plants from private nurseries and KMC in this regard would be self-sufficient.
Administrator Karachi said that lights which were out of order should be repaired immediately and carryout minor works without any delay whereas proper security arrangements in parks should be made as well so that citizens visiting parks would not have any inconvenience.
He directed to ensure completion of under construction park in Polo Ground as soon as possible and renovate this park with modern musical fountain, walking track, green fields, canopy and colourful flowers and trees. He also directed to utilize all resources to provide citizens with fresh and healthy entertainment so that citizens in their free times could enjoy with facilities available in parks.
Administrator Karachi said that Department of Parks should conduct survey of all big corridors and important roads and plant more greenery, trees and plants along green belt and roads whereas arrangements for proper care of those plants and trees should be made to protect them.
He said that along with construction of roads and bridges in the city greenery and plantation along them was also necessary so that these roads and corridors could be beautiful and attractive and environmental pollution could also be reduced.
