Srinagar, January 26, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Professor Abdul Ghani Butt has urged India to give the Kashmiris their right to self-determination as it had promised to them decades ago. Professor Abdul Ghani Butt in a media interview in Srinagar said that today India was celebrating its Republic Day but it should also respect the will of Kashmiri people to decide their future by themselves.

He said that Kashmir dispute was the main impediment in cordial relations between Pakistan and India. He said, both the countries are nuclear powers and have already fought wars on Kashmir. He added that Kashmir resolution was imperative for ensuring permanent peace in the region.

Professor Butt said that wars and use of force were no solution to any problem and called upon New Delhi to give up its rigid and unrealistic stance towards Kashmir dispute and resolve it in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
