Kashmiri students protest in Delhi against Guru’s hanging

New Delhi, February 23, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Kashmiri students of different universities of Delhi held peaceful protests against the hanging of Muhammad Afzal Guru by India.

The students demanded that the body of Afzal Guru should be returned to Kashmir. They carried placards that read, ‘Remove curfew from Kashmir’, ‘If Bhagat Singh is your martyr, then Afzal Guru is ours’, ‘Return Afzal Guru’s body’. The rally was joined by people from different walks of life. A function was also organised wherein different activities like poetry on Kashmir in solidarity with Afzal Guru was recited.

Professors from International Studies Department at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Happyman Jacob and CK Ramakrishna, also spoke on the occasion.
