Korangi Association of Trade and Industry welcomes Arshad Hakeem as Chairman Federal Board of Revenue
Karachi, July 12, 2012 (PPI-OT): The trade and industry has welcomed the appointment of senior bureaucrat, Ali Arshad Hakeem as Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
In a statement, the Paton In-Chief, Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) S M Muneer, Chairman, Ehtesham Uddin, President All Karachi Industrial Alliance, Mian Zahid Hussain, Vice Chairmen, Hasham A Razzak and Tariq Malik and Chairman KATI Standing Committee on Press and Media, Syed Johar Ali Qandhari while welcoming the appointment of Arshad Hakeem to head FBR said that Hakeem has vast experience and has served on various positions.
They hoped that newly appointed FBR chief would maintain the cordial relations between business community and FBR. He hoped that unlike the practice by former chairmen of FBR he would not focus only on collecting revenue but try to reform the taxation system by lowering tax slabs and providing maximum relief to the already overburdened tax payers.
They further advised the new FBR chief to give priority to raise new tax payers and enlarge tax net by persuading non taxpayers to get into tax net and improve revenue collection. They assured their cooperation to Hakeem in his quest to provide relief to the trade and industry.
