Islamabad: Saudi Arabia has assured Pakistan of full support in securing an alternative oil supply route through the Yanbu port. During a meeting with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki in Islamabad, Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik expressed hope that Pakistan will be given priority in the oil supply from Yanbu port.
According to Radio Pakistan, Saudi sources have assured the security of supply through the Yanbu port in the Red Sea. A commitment has been made to send a ship from Pakistan to the Yanbu port for crude oil. Ali Pervaiz Malik expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia's support for Pakistan at this time.
The Minister for Petroleum stated that the government is making efforts to ensure the continuity of the energy supply chain for the people. The Saudi Ambassador assured that full cooperation will continue with Pakistan in case of any emergency needs. He emphasized that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will stand by each other during times of trial.
