Lankan minister to inaugurate South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation seminar
Islamabad, July 12, 2012 (PPI-OT): The SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SAARC CCI) in collaboration with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka is organizing a seminar titled, “Trade Facilitation in South Asia: Addressing barriers to foster Trade Chain” today (July 13) in Colombo, Sri Lanka .
Professor G.L. Peiris, Minister for External Affairs of Sri Lanka will inaugurate the seminar along with Professor Madhukar SJB Rana, former finance minister of Nepal, said a press release issued here today.
Vikramjit Singh Sahney, President SAARC CCI will deliver keynote speech while Annisul Huq, immediate past president, Tariq Sayeed, founder member and the former President of SAARC CCI will chair technical sessions.
SVP SAARC CCI Ahmed Mujuthaba from Maldives, VPs Mahendra Parmar from India, Iftikhar Ali Malik from Pakistan and Kosala Wickramanayake from Sri Lanka will share their view point at business sessions.
The Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sri Lanka will also host the 56th Executive Committee meeting of the SAARC CCI, which will be attended by more than 40 executive members from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, and Pakistan.
They will discuss ways and means to boost trade in the grouping, remove hurdles, and boost cordial relations among the member countries.
