Karachi: Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik of the Pakistan Army has died following injuries sustained in a firefight with militants in the Tirah Valley, Khyber District. Malik, 24, from District Attock, was critically injured during a clash on August 9 and succumbed to his injuries two days later at the Combined Military Hospital in Peshawar.
According to Inter Services Public Relations, the incident occurred when security forces engaged with Khawarij militants at three different locations within Tirah Valley. Lieutenant Malik was leading his troops at one of the sites in Bagh, where he fought valiantly, neutralizing four militants before being critically injured. His death is a significant loss and highlights the ongoing challenges and sacrifices faced by Pakistan’s military in combating terrorism.
