Massive campaign being initiated for infrastructural improvement in Korangi Association of Trade and Industry
Karachi, October 16, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Town Administrator Korangi Sami Khan said that a massive campaign is being initiated for the improvement of infrastructure facility in the Town particularly in Korangi Industrial Area (KIA). The Town Administrators of Korangi and Landhi jointly called on the Chairman Mohammad Zubair Chhaya and office bearers of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) at KATI on Tuesday, the Town Administrator Landhi Abdur Rashid said that in order to improve infrastructure in the industrial areas and provision of facilities, the government has been asked to release funds on priority basis.
The meeting was also attended by President All Karachi Industrial Alliance, Mian Zahid Hussain, Vice Chairmen, Niaz Ahmed, Najmul Arfeen, Masood Naqi, Gulzar Firoz and Farazur Rehman. The Chairman KATI, Mohammad Zubair Chhaya appreciated the work undertaken by Town Administrations Korangi and Landhi for improving the infrastructure of KIA.
The joint meeting was focused on the work to be undertaken by both towns for the betterment of industrial areas. The Chairman KATI emphasized on immediate lifting of garbage heaped at almost all the sectors especially in 7-A on the directives of Supreme Court of Pakistan. He further said ‘kachra kundis’ were built by KITE DMC for the dumping of garbage collection from the industries.
He said that a plan is being chalked out which would be implemented with the town administrations. Mian Zahid Hussain assured Town Administrations that KATI would do every possible effort for the collection of various charges levied by Town Administrations to raise their income. The Chairman Local Government Standing Committee Faraz-ur-Rehman said that encroachments should be removed as they are becoming hideouts for the criminals.
