Message of Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting on occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan on Tuesday urged the nation to forge for making the country prosperous.

Dr. Firdous said in her message on the auspicious occasion of Eidul Fitr:

“I pay special tributes to Pakistani brothers and sisters. Eid is a religious festival, a gift of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak and also a symbol of happiness for Muslim Ummah.

“The purpose of Eidul Fitr is to forge unity among the Muslim Ummah. All the Muslims celebrate the auspicious occasion in cohesion.

“We should understand the importance of the occasion and must celebrate it by following the principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s Unity, Discipline and Faith.

“Former Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto not only strived for the unity of Pakistani nation but also worked for the solidarity of Muslim Ummah. Holding of Islamic Conference in Lahore was proof of the sincere efforts of the former PM. Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto continued pursuing the policy of reconciliation.

“President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani are advancing the reconciliation policy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

“All parliamentary political parties have been taken on board and included in the government. Pakistan is facing numerous problems including terrorism and law and order situation which is harming economy.

“The government is fighting war on terrorism and soon Pakistan will come out of the crisis. Pakistan will start progressing.

On the auspicious occasion of Eidul Fitr, Pakistan will be made a peaceful land by overcoming the problems. Pakistan will be put on the road to progress and prosperity. “On the occasion of Eid we should pledge to make Pakistan a peaceful and prosperous country.”
