Minister presides over meeting of National Commission for Human development
Islamabad, July 10, 2012 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Professional and Technical Training Sheikh Waqqas Akram presided the combined meeting of National Commission for Human development, Basic Education of Community schools and Federal board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
Federal Minister said that the budget of National commission for Human Development would be increased from1.6 billion to 3 billion rupees and foreign donors would also be contacted for the purpose.
Federal minister said that the European countries invest billion dollars on Education sector while it was unfortunate to allocate less budget for Education sector in Pakistan. More so he said the salary of feeder teachers would be increased from 2500 to 8000 rupees as giving two thousand and five hundred rupees to a teacher was a pathetic joke with them.
Federal minister appreciated the literacy program of NCHD for which the crime rate in Pakistan was reduced according to HDI report. Federal Minister also announced that the Daily wagers would be brought into core staff of NCHD.
Federal Minister said that the NCHD should have restarted the health program as NCHD was having mandate for it and the importance should be given to women reproductive health and children health. For BECS’ project, Federal Minister proposed the least pay should have been 8000 as it had been given 3000 earlier.
It was also said that the responsibility of monitoring for these thirteen thousand schools would be given to executive Director Officers of Education and for the purpose they would be given five thousand rupees. “ For the anticipatory approval of the BECS project he would talk to Prime Minister” said Sheikh Waqqas.
Federal Minister said the Chairperson of Federal Board and Intermediate Secondary Education to arrange ceremony in upcoming September of giving cash prizes and laptops to those students who had secured positions in the Federal Board.
