Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed Islamabad police to ensure strict implementation of the ban on kite flying. In a statement today, he took serious notice of the death of a seven year old girl from a kite string in the area under the jurisdiction of Islamabad's Khanna Police station and sought report from Inspector General Islamabad Police. He directed strict action against the culprits. The Interior Minister said indiscriminate action must be taken against those violating the ban on kite flying. Consequently, Islamabad Police, conducted a crackdown on kite flyers in the areas adjacent to Rawalpindi in which 23 people were arrested during 39 raids. Source: Radio Pakistan
