Money collected from taxpayers will not be misused: PM
Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed satisfaction over the country’s enhanced performance in the ease of doing business as its business outlook has been enhanced by seven per cent.
Addressing the officers of FBR in Islamabad, he stressed that revenue and tax collection are key drivers for the economic stability and the Federal Board of Revenue has a significant role in this regard.
Prime Minister Imran Khan assured that the money collected from the taxpayers will not be misused. He said that people will be eager to pay tax if they are assured that their money will be spent on public welfare instead of lavish life style of rulers.
The Prime Minister said making money through legal means is not a crime and we should encourage the business community in this regard. He said the nation is generous in charity giving, but shirk of paying taxes.
Imran Khan urged the FBR officials to devise reforms which could restore people’s confidence in the tax machinery, besides enhancing their performance coupled with easy tax payment system.
He said Pakistan has been at the crossroads of the history and his government is committed for reforms in the revenue and tax systems, which have already been started.
Imran Khan said the government through its holistic approach has been introducing all bracing reforms, with exports witnessing a surge and the stock exchange gaining momentum.
About China Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Prime Minister said the mega project has entered into another phase, which would spur industrialization and business opportunities across the country.
The Prime Minister said his government is committed to provide business friendly environment through ease of doing business.
