Mufti terms India a ‘banana republic’ – Press Release issued by Kashmir Media Service

Jammu, February 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, after the puppet Chief Minister Omar Abdullah questioned the wisdom of executing Muhammad Afzal Guru, pro-India People’s Democratic Party has called India a “banana republic”.

PDP patron, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, also a former chief minister, who is locked in competitive politics with the National Conference of Omar Abdullah, issued a statement, blaming India for a “narrow-minded approach that has caused serious setbacks to the peace process”.

Mufti said, “It is no good to regret the inability of the government to deny Afzal’s family a last mandatory meeting with him or deny his body to the family.”

He blamed Delhi for what has been happening in the Valley.
