Munawar Mughal administers Oath to Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry New Office Bearers
Islamabad: Yassar Sakhi Butt took oath as new President, Asad Farid and Shahid Zaman Shinwari as Vice Presidents of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Annual General Meeting of ICCI at Chamber House.
Mehtab Abbasi, Member National Assembly was the chief guest of the ceremony, who administered to new Executive Members, while Munawar Mughal, Chairman, Founder Group administered to new Office Bearers of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the year 2011-12.
Addressing the oath-taking ceremony, Mehtab Abbasi said that Pakistan has been facing serious challenges, and positive steps are required for the economic revival of our country, which has tremendous potential and many natural resources. He also said that Muslim Ummah must be united to overcome the challenges that were confronting the Muslim word.
Munawar Mughal, Chairman, Founder Group said that said the Group had been winning ICCI elections for the last several years which showed its commitment to serve the business community. He said Founder Group has been following the principals of unity and its motto is to serve the business community in a better way.
He congratulated the ICCI’s newly elected office barriers and Executive Members and expressed hope that they would take ICCI to new heights of success by working with the spirit, dedication and commitment.
After taking oath, Yassar Sakhi Butt, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry unfolded his vision to promote the interests of business community. He said that construction of ICCI Export Display Centre, new Industrial Estate in Islamabad, resolving residential issues of small traders and tax reforms would be on top of his agenda.
He thanked the Founder Group for posing confidence in him and electing him as President ICCI and assured that he would put in his best efforts for safeguarding the interests of businessmen and for promoting ICCI.
Outgoing President ICCI, Mahfooz Elahi congratulated the new office bearers and hoped that they would continue to work for the rights of traders and industrialists. He also highlighted the accomplishments achieved in his tenure and said that in his tenure ICCI took many initiatives to promote young entrepreneurs.
He said ICCI was the only Chamber of Pakistan that got the membership of International Chamber of Commerce and Industry and now ICCI office bearers would get exposure at international forums to promote Pakistan’s trade and investment.
