Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed NADRA to fully assist law enforcement agencies in the deportation of illegal foreigners. He made the remarks while chairing a meeting during his visit to NADRA headquarters in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Interior Minister emphasized the urgent need to identify individuals who have illegally obtained Pakistani citizenship and to ensure their removal from the national database. Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the improvements in NADRA's services over the past two years and called for the introduction of more modern services for public convenience. He also instructed that NADRA's state-of-the-art offices should be constructed on their own land rather than in rented buildings.
During the meeting, it was reported that NADRA has implemented several measures to enhance service delivery, including the cancellation of millions of identity cards belonging to deceased individuals. A period of thirty days has been established to address ID card-related issues. Additionally, with the cooperation of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), mobile SIMs issued in the names of deceased persons are being blocked.
